Wine of the Week - Penfolds 2006

This weeks "Wine of the Week" is going to be Penfolds 2006 Shiraz Cabernet from South Austrailia, Koonunga Hill. It must be 2006, as I had the 2008 blend exactly one-year ago and it wasn't on my "recommended list". I chose this wine because it had all the components of a good glass of red wine for under $20.

Cost for 750ml $16.99

I opened this wine one hour prior to drinking. It's actually a twist off, which I'm finding more common nowadays. It definitely had a strong powerful armoa intensity to it right when I opened it, but after one hour, it reduced greatly and even so after two hours.

This is a medium to full body wine, low in tannins with a smooth finish. It went well with pizza and salad we had for dinner. I did have enough for a glass the next day, but found it too tart or acidic. Best to drink the day you open it, which is the case for most wines.

On a side note, I love how the Liquor Stores are carring more 375ml bottles of wines nowadays....great for folks like me that enjoys a glass of wine for dinner and not having to waste it when the whole bottle is not finished the same day.

NFA - NO FIXED ADDRESS - Secret Fine Dining

Well this was my second NFA dinner and it was just as good if not better then the first. NFA? what does that mean? No Fixed Address - once set-up and arranged, no one knows the location of where they will be enjoying a night of fine dining with their own Personal Private Chef. Notice is given to the Orgainizer 24 hrs prior to the event date, which builds up to the excitement and contributes to the overall NFA experience.

These NFA dinners have been around for awhile, our neighbours to the South in Seattle has been enjoying these types of fine dinning for many years now and has recently just started to explode in Vancouver.

The menu usually consist of six-courses and the guests are required to bring their own beverages if they want to drink anything other then water. The Chef normally creates the menu, apparently it changes monthly, but substitue food can be discussed for those who are vegetarians or don't eat certain type of food.

Tonight's menu consisted of some really interesting flavour combinations and new ingredients to all our pallets, such as Eggplant Peas in our Slow Braised Green Curry Lamb Shank.

The mixture of courses was creatively designed and flavour combination made it a light yet filling experience. Come hungry.....expect to leave full!

Interesting Food Fine.....ever heard of a Buddha Hand Lemon? I guess for all foodies, you probably have, but for me, I haven't......check this out at any Wholefoods in Vancouver..

A Buddha's hand is a very strong scented, odd looking citrus fruit. Sometimes called a Buddha's hand citron, it is an ancient fruit that is not commonly thought of for its cookery uses. The flavor and scent of a Buddha's hand are similar to those of a lemon, but its appearance is very different.

The Buddha's hand is bright yellow, and its long yellow "fingers" can number from five to 20. The Buddha's hand needs warm weather to grow and can be damaged by the cold, but also by intense heat. Areas such as Southern California have ideal weather conditions in which the fruit can flourish.

The Buddha's hand can be found growing on small trees, and it is thought to have originated in India. Other stories claim that the fruit was used as an offering in religious ceremonies. When the fingers of the fruit are closed, they symbolize the closed praying hand. The Buddha's hand is thought to be one of the oldest known citrus fruits.

In China and Japan, the fruit is mainly used to scent or freshen rooms. It is also popular in fragrances and perfumes with a citrus base. The flesh of the fruit is not juicy, and the little pulp there is is incredibly tangy. Unlike most citrus fruits, Buddha's hand does not have a bitter pith.

The rind of the fruit is often used to make a zesty marmalade, but it can also be added to drinks to impart a lemony taste. Chefs sometimes use the fruit as a flavoring for fish. It is also excellent in salads and rice dishes. The rind is often used as a main ingredient when making candy. It can also be mixed with ice cream or yogurt to give an extra kick.

Friday afternoon in January, where to go for lunch?....of course Medina, no line-ups, no fuss and lots of parking...For all those that has never been to Medina, the best days are weekdays....no line-ups! Medina offers great breakfast, brunch & lunch while sitting nice and cozy to your neighbours. Can't decide what to get when you look through the menu?...just roll your eyes to your neighbours on the right and left. The menu is limited which for me is perfect cause I'm so indecisive, but don't worry, there is still a good variety for everyone and also for the Vegetarians in our lives...just ask them to exclude the meat. Each bite is packed with the freshes and most flavourable ingredients.....no dish is a wrong dish.....definitely will go back!

Today's choices for us where...

$11 La Tartine - Marinated shredded carrot, grilled haloumi cheese, tabouleh, houmus, olive and rosemary sourdough.

$14 Canard Confit - Duck confit, sour cherry compote, brie, anjou pears, pecan craisin sourdough. Watercress and caramelized pecans.

Ringing in the New Year at The Pink Door - Seattle

The Pink Door serves uncomplicated (as their website states) American Italian Food...definitely more American Version. Upon arriving in one of the dark Alleys of Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA, we were told by our Cab driver that the restaurant is straight down the alley and is the first door on the left with the light....upon walking down the alley (no cars allowed), the stubble stones (or whatever you call them), we're as ancient and medival as in the 40's possibly....we see the door, it was an actual pink door, with no sign of the restaurant name (at least we didn't notice one)....we see some people dressed up, going through the doors, we assumed it must be the place...and sure it was....The Pink Door, litterally speaking, it was just a Pink Door.....the ambience was interesting, full of character with very high ceilings....lively of course with a live jazz band that played throughout the evening in their lounge (which is separate from the dining room)...

For New Years, there was a set Four-Course menu for $75, which also included Champagne Toast & screamers & hats for the mid-night countdown.....

They did offer a good selection on their New Years set menu, but like I said, I didn't come for the food, but still was a bit dissappointed as I expected a more traditional italian flavour....

Ringing in the New Years in Seattle...

Although Seattle is simply a couple hour drive from Vancouver BC, the thought of being in a different state makes it all the better. Seattle has alot to offer in terms of food variety and shopping and next to Vancouver, offers very similar style Restaurants. Not to mention, there is always Happy Hour at every Restaurant from 2:30-6 pm, where the food & drinks are always a steller price.

Staying at The Fairmont Olympic downtown made it much easier to get from place to place. Of course, right in our building is the very well known Shuckers. Shuckers is one of Seattle's oldest and most pre-eminent oyster bars. With a daily menu featuring a selection of fresh fish and seafood, Shuckers brims with 13 different kinds of oysters prepared nine different ways.

Unfortunately our dinner at 9:30 pm was a bit late and we only had a couple of options. I am sorry to say that I didn't catch the name of the two types of oysters we had, but my experience was just a simple OK.

However, the rest of the menu I enjoyed, such as the Shuckers Chop Salad, Chili Spiced Popcorn Shrimp with Tomato Tartar and the Panfried Oysters. The one other food item that I expected flavour from was the Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese ~ now doesn't that sound good? but to my surprise, there was no flavour. I think the wrong cheese was used.

Another thing about Shuckers and actually with most Restaurants I went to in Seattle during this short trip, is that they offer a very limited selection of wine by the glass.

All in all, Shuckers was a comfy and cozy place to have a late night dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle. As well, it was nice of them to split each order into two separate plates as these dishes were shared.

Good Bye to "Kettle of Fish" after 31 years of Service

After 31 years of service, today will be last day to visit Kettle of Fish....although I've heard and drove by this Restaurant many many times on my way downtown, I've never ever been inside or had the mind set of going inside for dinner. To my surprise when asked to go for dinner there last night, I was amazed with the ambience, decor and service. I always read up on the restaurants I go too and this one I've read a few negative comments, such as bad service, food not as good as it used to be, etc....so I was very skeptical about what to expect.

She recommended the Curry Mussels for our appetizer and the Cioppino for our main course (very generous portion) - it included prawns, mussels, clams, scallops, salmon, saba, lobster. The seafood was cooked perfectly but had a bit too much "fishy" taste for my pallet....but then again, it can be a hit or miss depending on the season you eat certain types of seafood. Although they did have a good menu selection, some of their items were no longer available or sold out....but I'm glad I had what I had.....

I was also shocked that their wine list was very affordable, the most expensive bottle I noticed was $50.

Overall, the dining experience was good. The restaurant would have made a very nice romantic place to go fo dinner or even to have a party or reception. I have a feeling it's going to be revamped into another great eating treasure. Can't wait to see what opens in its place.

Red Door Pan Asian Grill - Park Royal

Red Door's attempt to serve tasty contemporary Asian Fare with a traditional food sharing style menu and decor was very disappointing. Although the ambiance was good, the food was tasteless.

Tonight's order of food included "Ginger Beef" which had absolutely no flavour and the beef was burnt almost with a bit of black charcol look to it. Next, we ordered the "Singapore Street Noodles" with a special request to have the noodles crispy and was told by the Server that it would be okay, but when we got it, it was not crispy at all, when asked why, he said the Chef couldn't do it.....huh? why would you tell a customer that you can have it crispy when it was being ordered and bring out something that is not.....next item on our menu tonight was the "Pad Thai".......mmmmm what can I say.....no flavour......but then again, it did taste healthy.......as for the limes that were served with each dish.....there was no juice to the limes, it seemed as though the limes were used or left out to dry....when requested for more limes, they brought over a small dish of dried out lime???? what was that about??? it kinda makes you wonder.

Although the staff was nice, they were very green.....final thoughts, when dining at Red Dor Pan Asian Grill don't expect too much. Like I said, nice ambiance and staff, but tasteless menu.

WOW, db Bistro Modern delivered one of the most outstanding restaurant experience that I did not expect....GM Chris Gonzalez and his Team of Excellence made this dining experience one that will be repeated by me and many others on a more regular basis.

db Bistro is a casual bistro located in the heart of Kitsilano on West Broadway...it is where the traditions of French cuisine meets the culinary taste of the Pacific Northwest. Set in a casual and contemporary atmosphere, db Bistro promises dining that is welcoming and delicious, but delivers much much more...

It is the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner with friends, a business meeting lunch, afterwork drink, or a group celebration in their private room which holds 20 sit-down.

The experience was amazing, the food was Taster's Choice.... they made it easy by extending their $38 Dine Out three-course dinner menu all summer long.

Tonights selection was made easier not only by the simplicity of their menu selection but with the gracious assistance from the Waiter and the suggested wine.

Tonights food experience started with a surprise from GM Chris Gonzales.....a complementary glass of champagne for all and Tartes Flambees which is a Crips Alsatian Flat Bread with Wild Mushroom to share.

As a choice of three appetizers, I selected the Country Pork Terrine "Grand-Pere" - Wild Mushroom, English Relish, House-made Pickles......cured perfectly and the pickles made a nice refreshing touch.

Bouillabaisse Provencal - Herb-crusted Halibut, Squid, Musels, Garli Rouille - Made to near perfection....as each empty plate was crytal clean at the end.

From a choice of three deserts, we chose the following two as must haves on everyone's next visit.

" Bittersweet Chocolate Bar" ~ Chocolate Cremeaux w/ Raspberry Sorbet.

"Lemon Tart" ~ Cassis Sorbet, Milk Foam

Finishing off with cup of herbal Chamomile T, we were provied with another complimentary signture item from db bistro, I belive this was the Apple Confit, which is a sugar puffed pastry with vanilla icecream.

NFA aka NO FIXED ADDRESS

"What does this mean...you may ask? This is what we call "Fine Dining", I mean "Secret Fine Dining" at its best in Vancouver. I learned this weekend that there is an underworld of fine dining experience taken place throughout Vancouver where famous and inspiring Chefs will host and cook up a storm for you and invited guests only at a "No Fixed Address" (NFA) location which is disclosed just a day prior to the event.

You and your guest can book upto a dinner party of 12, price can range from $50-$65 per person, I guess depending if you have enough people. Our dinner last night consisted of only eight people, so the cost per person went up to $65 (tax included & cash only). This price included a six course dinner and it's bring your own boose (BYOB)...which I wish I new so I would of bought a nice bottle of wine to go with the delicious dinner.

The Chef uses inspired, seasonal gourmet food prepared for all his menu items which changes every two-three weeks......Here's a taste of last nights menu....

First Course - Thai Beef Salad....this was my favorite, blended with the right amount of fresh ingredients & parsley this dish was so naturally flavored without all the excess sauce which you normally get at Restaurant....if I can eat this everyday, I would be healthy as a Horse!

Second Course - I call this the "Scallop Trio"....basically it's scallops served three different way..left to right...
1. Scallop with micro dressing & leek & apple
2. Scallop ceviche
3. Scallop with watercress & apricot purees & candied walnut
*all the scallops were cooked to perfection (which to me is another hard task to do)

Third Course - Slow cooked Lamb Shank with lentil pilaf and cumin honey...I have to say that I'm not a big lamb person and its rare that I can bite into a lamb dish, never mind finishing it....this is the second time I really enjoyed lamb and finished every piece...lamb was oven baked for over six hours and easily melted in my mouth as I slowly enjoyed each and every bite and chew.

Fourth Course - Grapefruit Sorbet - Made in-house, this was the perfect sorbet blended to clean the pallet for the next course.

Course Five - Seard duck with fenugrek chilisoy sauce and steam packchoy...a bit too much soy sauce for me, but the duck itself was definitely cooked to perfection, not too chewing, just right.

Course Six - Berry Bread Pudding...to my surprise, this dish was not as sweet as I thought it would be. I love bread pudding and it's usually really sweet, but this one was not so sweet but yet, tasted sooooop good, maybe it's the blueberries being soaked in Grand Marnier....(at least thats what I thought I heard the Chef say).

So, this is what NFA is all about, "NO FIXED ADDRESS - Secret Fine Dining"....would I go back, YES! no question about it. Would I recommend this family and friends? YES!

Incendio is an Italian restaurant in Kitsilano Vancouver next to the Fifth Avenue Cinema. Restaurant has an outdoor patio and set menus for large parties.

But if your looking for good old Authentic Italian Food, this isn't the place to be? It seems that everything Italian wasn't up to par...overcooked pasta, the Osso Bucco tasted like it was from a can and what the heck, they have Thai Curry pasta at an Authentic Italian Restaurant?

Everything not Italian was good, such as the seafood in the Spaghetti Vongole, Clams Marinara & of course the Melting Chocolate Cake (how can you prep this wrong?)

As for the Wine List....mmmmm, not so bad, selections includes Burrowing Owl at a price of $60/ bottle.

Spaghetti vongole ~ fresh clams, artic surf clams & herbs in a lemon & olive sauce....pasta was over cooked, seafood was good.

Painted Rock Wine Dinner at Lumiere !

What's all the hype about Lumiere, besides food at it's finest?....Service, service, service....not only do they offer the finest of fine-dining, Lumiere's service was amazing and spectacular just like the Restaurant atmosphere.

We were seating amongst a group of Elite Strangers at Lumiere's first Wine Dinner of their 2010 Series which included the award-wining wines of Painted Rock Estate Winery of the Okanagan Valley in BC.

Chef Dale MacKay's Painted Rock Wine Dinner Menu was amazing and just melted in our mouths as we ate every piece of edible ingredient on our plate....his menu included the following mouth-watering dishes:

Alsatian Tarte Flambee, Gruyer and Smoked Bacon...a wine dinner first-course tradition started by db Chef de Cuisine Stephane Istel.

Dungeness Crab Salad which included pumpernicke, shiso, orange, celery Root paired with Pained Rock Chardonnay, 2008....this salad was light and paired extremely well with the Chardonnay.....

Slow Baked Artic Char, Leek flan, black trumpet mushrooms, beurre rouge paired with Painted Rock Syrah, 2007....light bodied and smooth....just like the Artic Char, I've never had fish melt in my mouth, it literally melted in my mouth......it was amazing and ozzing with flavour.

Duo of AAA Prime Beef, red wine braised short rib, potato fondant, seared rib eye, ramaine parcel paired with Painted Rock Red Icon, 2007, their signature blend.....see for yourself....

Final touch, the Chocolate Fondant, Caramel and Hazelnut Nougatine Ice Cream, paired with a secret blend of Port.

What a end to a spectacular night of fine food, great wine and great company!

Habit Loung on Main Street in Vancouver, BC offers Modern Canadian Food such as Shepherds Pie, Tuna Casserole, Meatlof, etc...the menu is small but offers enough variety for any palet...great for vegetarians as well! The wine list was small, which was good as it was not too overwhelming to select a wine with dinner. Oh ya, they also let you taste the wine before you buy it...

We started off with the Cocktail Canapes and Salt Cod Cakes....both were great choices...packed with flavour.

Alll the dishes are small in size, but packed with lots of flavour and would satisfy any size appetite...Veggie Shepherds Pie was a hit with us.

Beet Salad, great as an appetizer salad, but not enough for an entree.

Creme Brulee.....yummy......sorry, they ate it faster then I can take a picture.....you'll have to just go and check it out for yourself at Habit Loung on Main Street, Vancouver, BC.

A champion of our coastal fisheries, and protective of commercially endangered species, chef Pabst created the Unsung Heroes six years ago. I found this great article by Jackie Burns and thought I'd share this with you all.......it's about what message your clothes are sending to people?

I've been going through a major purple phase in my wardrobe lately and have just learned that the colour is known for having an extremely positive effect on others. And all this time I thought it was just my glowing personality! Tamara Glick, founder of Trademark Image Consulting, says each colour conveys a different subliminal message and knowing the philosophy behind each can help you dress more strategically for both professional and social situations. Here is Tamara's professional colour analysis.

Black, grey or navy:
Considered the most conservative, authoritative colours for clothing. They are associated with seniority, expertise, power, elegance and, in North America, somberness. There is a great neutral for everyone but it may not always be black. If black is not your best colour, try using accessories in a colour that suits you well (such as a tie, scarf or necklace), to balance the effect.

Brown:
A more relaxed and approachable colour, brown is also considered a neutral background and is often worn in professional, less formal business environments as an alternative to the other neutrals. Due to it's naturally warm tone, brown is a good colour choice for situations in which you are negotiating or trying to build interpersonal relationships.

Beige family (including taupe, cocoa and pewter):
Even more non-threatening than brown, it’s seen as more friendly and approachable. It’s a great colour choice if you’re in a very people-focused profession where interpersonal relationships are at the fore; wearing a colour that’s relaxing to the eye conveys a sense of friendliness and approachability.

White:
Represents purity and freshness. It does also have the advantage of pulling your eye to wherever the white is because it’s light and bright. Where you want to bring more attention you use lighter brighter colours; where you want to reduce focus use darker, deeper focus. It can also command attention if you’re a speaker since it will naturally bring people’s eyes to your face. In some cultures white is considered a colour of mourning rather than one of purity; the meaning of some colours will change according to cultural context.

Blue:
It’s seen as a colour that will activate the mind and it’s also associated with logic and trust. It’s seen as very peaceful which is largely the reason why so many uniforms for public servants, like police officers, are navy. Lighter shades of blue have a slightly more feminine look for women than navy and it’s also a great way of lighting up a dark suit that’s full of authority; you can use a light blue as a peaceful under layer.

Pink:
Suggestive of empathy; you’re not going to have your most powerful outfit in pink. It's also especially enlivening to all complexions as there is a flattering version of it for everyone. When used in moderation near the face (a dress shirt or tie for men or a sweater or neck accessory for women) it will provide a healthy glow that conveys youth and good health.

Cell Phone Ban Began Jan 1, 2010 in Vancouver !

Changes to the Motor Vehicle Act came into effect on January 1, allowing drivers to use only hands-free cellphones or devices that require one touch to activate. Drivers in the Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) will not be permitted to use even hands-free phones in addition to other prohibited activity.

A new $167 fine will begin to be levied on February 1, 2010. If drivers are caught texting or emailing they will receive an additional three penalty points. Further, drivers in the GLP will receive the $167 fine and three penalty points for any violation of this legislation.

According to independent research and studies, cellphone use while driving is the number-one cause of distracted driving. On average, about 117 people die each year in BC and 1,400 are sent to hospital because someone was distracted behind the wheel.

In the coming months, government will launch an awareness campaign to educate drivers on the new law and the importance of paying attention on the road.

(Exemptions to the legislation include police, fire and ambulance personnel who may need to make calls in the performance of their duties, and motorists who need to call 911.)

New Year's at Cin Cin Restaurant

We decided to stay away from the bumping and puming at various hotel and dance partues this New Year's Eve. We made an early reservation at Cin Cin Restaurant on Robson Street. First of all, driving down Robson Street was amazingly quiet, there was no traffic at 6:30 pm with plenty of parking right on Robson Street.

Cin Cin Restaurant located on Robson Street in Vancouver, BC is known for their wood burning oven and fresh hand made pasta. Cin Cin's menu is very ingredient driven and supports locally grown organic ingredients.

Once we got up the winding stone staircase we were greeted by a few elegant Hostess with the warmest smiles that graciously took our jackets and seated us promptly. The Restaurant was decorated with black and white balloons to celebrate the New Year.

We were immediately greeted by our Server and provided with menus. As I scrolled through the Award Winning Wine List, I was really overwhelmed with the huge selection of wines offered. There were bottles ranging from $40 - $3,500. It would of been nice if the Server assisted with the wine list and or at least offered some suggestions. We ended up ordering a bottle of the Ruffino 2007 Chianti Superiore, priced at $65 ~ this wine was great! There was no hint of alcohol (which you usually fine in wine when the grapes are too young or less priced wines aka cheap wines) and it went down incredibly smooth.

Now, lets get to the good part, the food ~ we started off with Tofino Octopus and Arugula Salad ~ both of which was light and fresh, but just didn't have a quick to it that we were anticipating....I guess you can say, kinda blah.....

As for the entrees, we figured since we were at an Authentic Italian Restaurant that we order one of their signature hand made pasta dishes....again, there was no kick to it? There was something missing, it was good, but not great...

Oh well, I finishd the night with my favorite cup of Chamomile Tea from T.

Over the years many "time & energy saving devices" have been invented to allow us to get our daily chores done quickly and with less effort. The problem is we have become so efficient that we now pay a price for it in declining health. One solution; look for ways to waste energy. No, I am not referring to "fossil fuel" energy, but our "human effort" energy.

Health and fitness expert Covert Bailey once said "Fit people waste their energy while unfit people save their energy." The trick is to find ways to waste your energy while carrying out your routines. "Human effort" energy is like time; you can't save it to use at a later date. The old saying says it best, "If you don't use it, you lose it." The following are 10 ways you can burn calories and get your tasks done by wasting some of your stored energy.

1. Mow your lawn with a push mower.
2. Use the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
3. Walk or ride a bike to work if possible.
4. Park and shop. Park at the far end of the lot, not only will you get exercise walking to the Mall doors, its easier in and out of the parkade.
5. Do your housework with vigor.
6. Go for a walk…it is convienient and it is free.
7. Wash your dishes by hand...you'd be amazed the # of calories you loose.
8. Rake your leaves. Raking leaves at a vigorous pace for 20 minutes is the equivalent of running one mile.
9. Drink eight pints of ice water a day. According to "Mens Health" magazine, your body will expend 123 calories of heat daily to warm the water to body temperature. That amounts to losing a pound a month.
10. Eat breakfast. According to research at Duke University, those who skip breakfast eat more later and choose foods higher in fat and calories.

The bottom line: Look at the routines you currently maintain. See if you can find creative ways to continue doing what you already do, only with added health benefits. You will find it easier done than said.

Vallarta Grill in Gastown is the place to be when you want authentic Mexican food.....join gals like these for salsa/latin dinner and dancing every saturday night with their very own live DJ!

A typical Mexican dinner that night included chicken in mole sauce, which I was told was pretty good...all entree's came with rice, refried beans, and two slices of chicken w/ mole sauce (traditional chocolate & dried mexican hot pepper sauce) - "delicious!!" as quoted by Julienne.

Other gals such as Teresa & Ofelia (gals in the picture) had ceviche which was said to be ok and the seafood salad needed some work.

Although there was alot of mix feedback, I would still consider checking this out, who knows? maybe I'll learn to salsa dance????? see you all there.......maybe...........

Bandara Salad:
As always at Cactus Club the tradional Bandara Salad is always a hit, you can never go wrong with this salad. Its got cajun chicken, corn, dates, feta crispy chew mein with a hint of honey-lime vinaigrette! Yummy!

Julienne ordered one of Rob Feenies creations, Rocket Salad....a bit lighter then the Bandara Salad and consisted of panko & parmesan bread chicken, baby argula, tomatoes, cucumber w/ lemon caper dressing...light and refreshing!

Doris had 2 items from the appy menu, Ravioli & Prawn Trio, mouth watering butternut squash ravioli w/ jumbo prawns and good old Calamari another staple item on the menu you can't go wrong.

OMG, the best part was the dessert "Key Lime Pie", I have to admit, this was the best Key Lime Pie I've ever had..it was the perfect texture and flavour!!!! MUST TRY ON YOUR NEXT VISIT TO CACTUS CLUB!

I gotta admit Cactus Club as a traditional chain restaurant does offer a good variety of beverages and food items and great ambience for people watching...as for eye candy....not so much...good night...
